Active ingredient and use: Each antispasmodic tablet contains 10 mg hyoscine butylbromide, which relaxes smooth muscle in the gut and urinary tract to ease crampy, colicky pain from conditions such as IBS, gastrointestinal spasm, diverticular disease, bladder cramps and some types of biliary or ureteric colic; adults and children ≥12 years typically take 1 tablet three times a day, which may be increased up to 2 tablets four times daily if needed, while children 6–11 years usually take 1 tablet three times daily, and it should not be used continuously long‑term without medical review due to anticholinergic side effects like dry mouth, blurred vision, fast heart rate and the need to exclude serious causes of abdominal pain.
